Drawing Is My Forte

Tuesday, June 14, 2005 | 0 Comments

I promised that I would post some of my other art. This is a pencil drawing from my sketchbook. I have a few other sketches in there that I think are post worthy too, so there will be more.

I really like drawing animals. I find them so much easier to draw than people. I do have a few fairly good drawings of people, but I think that my drawings of animals and flowers are the best.

Lyvvie: have you seen any seals in Scotland? That was the first time that I saw a seal in the wild. I was running up and down a beach on Orkney and this seal was following me back and forth in the water. Way cool!

Sask 1: Thanks. I was so glad that you commented, because I have been having trouble getting to your blog. It was on my end though. I think it is fixed now.

Sierrabella: Aw, shucks.

I am so envious of people who can draw and have various other artistic abilities. I have two hands just like you; how come I can't even stay in the lines when I color?

Art comes from the mind. This is why musicians can be deaf, yet play fantastically, and painters can be blind, yet paint as if they aren't.

A lot of times people have trouble creating art because they can't get past their preconceived perceptions of an object. Gestalt is a very good example of this. People will see things that aren't really there because of their preconceived perceptions.

And a lot of people have trouble creating art because they are just plain too impatient. This is my problem. I will often start pieces and not finish them, because I have gotten the general idea down and just am too impatient to do the detail work.

That is the strangest looking dog I've ever seen. Does it belong to a neighbor? Because I would tell them to take it to the vet and have the get those paws looked at. They need to take care of injuries like that or.....what's that? A seal? Oooooooooohh......never mind.

I wish I could draw. It's so cool. All I can draw are mediocre stick figures.

You are a "Syll" of all trades. How is that for a change ?
That is a gift of God and all gifts are given for a purpose, so use it.
