I'm Wiilly Tired

Sorry to be neglecting my blogging duties, but I do have several really good excuses.

1) I have been working two jobs. We have had a lot of contracts come due that I needed to re-apply for.

2) I've been busy having parties at my house, entertaining my friends and going to their houses for get-togethers. Eating grilled food, disc golfing, coffee, margaritas, waffles, bowling, playing video games - tons of fun.

3) I read "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows". Very good.

4) We got a Wii!!!!!

OMG!! This is the most awesome thing that I have played in a very long time! It is not just another gaming system - it is an exercise machine. After one night of playing the Wii Sports my arms were sore, my abs were sore, my obliques were sore!! I can't remember the last time I worked out hard enough to make my obliques sore!

It was the most I've ever spent on a gaming system, but it is worth every penny. SSB and I have always said that if we could afford it we would totally put a bowling lane in our house. Having the Wii is like having a bowling lane in your house!

Although Wii Sports alone is enough to warrant the purchase, I'm pretty sure that it just scratches the surface of possibilities with this gaming system. I already own Twilight Princess for Game Cube, but I'm all ready to fork over another $50 for the Wii version. The chance to do some actual sword fighting just has me tingling with excitement.

Fry posed the question as to whether Wii bowling translated to real bowling, I practiced Wii bowling left-handed. I am not left handed and have NEVER bowled left handed before in my life. Today we all went bowling and I bowled one whole game left handed. It did not take me much practice at all to make the transition. In fact, I bowled almost just as well left handed as I did right handed (113 left handed - that's about my league average). I think with a little more practice I could could use that left-handed trick for league as there are some shots that are easier to make left-handed. And I can't wait to see the looks on people's faces when I switch hands. Fry said it would be like the sword fight in The Princess Bride .

Isn't the Wii awesome??? I am kicking butt at tennis and bowling. And our Mii's are VERY realistic. It's eerie!!!

I have already gotten two scores over 200 in Wii bowling - left handed!
Our Miis are spot on too! I have even made a couple of some of my favorite celebrities. Tori Amos is in my Wii!

Best.Game System.EVER!!

We love our Wii. One of the most fun games is Wario Ware; it's a series of silly Wiimote games that you have to do as quickly as possible.

We're also big into Wii Sports; my Hubbs and I play pairs tennis against the computer, and geeky as it sounds, it's a fantastic bonding experience we share together working as a "team." :)

I just love the Wii...I was going to comment about Wario Ware and Mario Party (fun, but not as good as Wario Ware). I go crazy on Wii Sports boxing. Talk about sore the next day!

We just got Wii too!! We love Big Brain Academy, and are playing Zelda: Twilight Princess, we don't like Monkey Ball so much, and Sassy plays Sonic. We came into some money and splashed out.

I love the golf game. Shorty like to play tennis. It's been great fun for everyone! The bummer is when anyone comes over all they want to do is play the Wii...ah well.

The Wii is the single greatest thing since the polio vaccine. The only thing that will trump this is when they colonize the moon.

I love Boxing and Tennis. I like doing homerun derby on the Baseball training too.

Mrs L, my son was talking up Wario Ware. Sounds fun.

Shannon, everyone seems to like boxing - I haven't tried it yet. I don't think I could play against some one; I would be too tempted to actually punch the person.

Lyvvie, I probably won't be getting Twilight Princess until the end of the year, so you will have to let me know how it plays.

Evil Spock, I almost threw my shoulder out pitching, but I can get some pretty wicked fast balls.

Does Wii bowling have a virtual snackbar?

Sylvana said...

AG, I WISH! They don't even let you customize your ball. But I still love it!

Abrasive Grace is back?! why didn't she tell me? *cry*

See what you're doing to your fans, AG? You need to keep blogging!

The Princess Bride - best sword fight, best wrestling fight, best brain fight... and Robin Wright.

Just a great flick.

The Wii - always a good excuse. Harry Potter has been my excuse since I read Deathly Hallows and saw the Order of the Phoenix movie 2 days in a row. Ha!

Conversations At Our House v.28

[at lunch talking about some shopping I did for work]

Sy: Red really liked the highlighters I bought. Her eyes lit up when I showed her and she said, "I am the Highlighter Queen!"

SSB: "Highlighter Queen"? What exactly does that mean?

Sy: She wears a tiara of highlighters around work.

SSB: Does she stand up bunches of highlighters and give speeches to them?

Sy: Yes, and she has a gown made of highlighter felt.

SSB: And when they make her angry, does she chop off their heads?

Sy: *POP!* "HaHa! More felt for my gown!!"
