In Search of an Escape Route

Friday, August 12, 2005 | 0 Comments

I was looking for a website that I could use as a neutral escape site for my blog, in case you are peeking at work and need a quick out. Well, I'm still looking, but I stumbled upon this very interesting site in the search. I typed "patriotic" in Google, because I figured, who could shake a finger at you in this day and age for wanting to get your patriotism fix whenever you could. Right? You could just ask your boss why they hate America. I clicked on something that looked fairly official. and BAM! Hilarity was found!

Click on the picture to visit the site. Trust me. You'll enjoy yourself immensely. Have a great weekend!

HA! That's funny!!!

I used to have a doohicky on my blog that was a little green button you could click on, and it would take you to whatever webpage the person reading set it up for. I think the defalt was google. But I don't think anyone really figured out how to use it, so I took it off. and now I forget where I got it.

that wasn't at all helpful. sorry.

SSB, you are right. MY boss wouldn't mind.

Shannon, saying that something is so funny that you can't contain fluids within your body is one of the greatest compliments that I could think of. THANK YOU!

Sandy, many people outside the US see us as spoiled rotten brats (I don't get that from the news, I get that from actually meeting people from other countries). They may not hate us, but I don't think they care for us. I also feel that everyday, people around the world are becoming more cautious and distrusting of our intentions because of our seemingly selfish motivations. There are many people in the US that realize this, but whenever they try to point that out and how dangerous it is, they are accused of hating America. In fact, if someone says ANYTHING remotely negative about anything that the government or the US does, they are called America Haters. I don't believe they hate America, I believe they- like myself- love what America is supposed to stand for but hate the current administration and their fucked up policies.

ESC, I remembered your doohicky, that's what gave me the idea.

OldRoses, that Iron Hymen bit nearly knocked me off the couch I was laughing so hard!

Well put..I totally agree. All you have to do is follow the softwood lumber agreement to realize what arrogant bullies the goverment are.

It really doesn't take much to realize what bullies they are, that is why I am still scratching my head at the support that they are afforded. I think it more hype than anything. I also think the support comes from people who are more concerned about boogeymen than things that REALLY affect their lives.

yeah, im canadian and there are those...odd times where me and my colleagues make fun of american stuff. though i'm sure it's not any different for american people making fun of canadians. it's not like we'll begrudge anyone after finding out they are american. at least not most of us. in any case, it's more bush's doing than anything.

Kari, I seriously don't know why Americans make fun of Canadians. It's not like we know that much about them. You guys pretty much keep to yourself. I like that in a neighbor. We come across more like that over-privileged drunk asshole on the corner that blares their music all night and lets his dog shit in your yard. Every once in a while he'll contribute to the community by buying Girl Scout cookies, but you know it is only because he's addicted to the Snickerdoodles.

Syl- I'm confused, the President is always telling us how much people love us for spreading democracy and freedom throughout the world. You mean some people don't appreciate it when we use our bombs and armies to do it? Well I never....

Sylvana have you ever been to Canada?

DrMax, saying that we are spreading democracy and freedom sounds far better than saying that we are seizing resources.

June, thanks. Even if you didn't mean me.

Sandy, I went across a little part of Canada once with SSB. Were amazed at the cleanliness of the farms! And that they sold beer and wine at McDs.

Funny the things people remember. I've never been at a McD's that sells beer and wine. You should come over more often, Canada is great!
